### How do I register my pet on PawsitivID?

Open the PawsitivID app and add your pet. You take a short set of multi-angle photos — front, sides, back, sitting, and standing. Registration takes about a minute and creates your pet's biometric Pawsitiv ID.

### What is a Pawsitiv ID, and do I still need a microchip?

A Pawsitiv ID is a biometric identifier built from your pet's photos, including nose print, fur pattern, and facial structure. It works wherever a smartphone works, with no chip reader required. It adds to microchips and tags rather than replacing them, so keep yours.

### My pet is lost — what should I do?

Report your pet as lost in the app and keep the profile photos current. PawsitivID compares any found-pet photo against registered pets, then notifies you when there is a likely match. You can also make a printable flyer with our free Lost Pet Poster tool.

### I found a pet. How do I report it without an account?

Anyone can report a found pet without creating an account. Submit a photo and location, and PawsitivID checks it against registered pets. If there is a match, the registered owner is notified. This is the only flow that does not require signing in.

### How do I buy or renew a pet license?

If your city or county runs its licensing program through PawsitivID, you can buy or renew a license in the app through secure checkout. Availability and fees are set by your local government, so licensing is not offered in every area yet.

### Is the PawsitivID app free?

Yes. The consumer app is free for pet owners on iOS and Android, and lost-pet recovery is never paywalled. Optional pet-license fees, where offered, are set by your municipality, not by PawsitivID.

### What is Avva?

Avva is the in-app AI assistant. It answers pet-care and product questions and helps guide you through tasks like registration and reporting a found pet.

### How do municipalities and shelters use PawsitivID?

Organizations run digital pet licensing, lost-pet recovery, and Animal Control Officer case tools on the same record the AI matching uses. To get started, request a demo or sign in to the admin portal.
